147. THE GREEN PEARL - FC - An acrylic painting on a 14 x 20 size canvas board. It appears on the front of the dust jacket for, "THE GREEN PEARL" by Jack Vance, published by Underwood-Miller in 1985.
Originally, the painting was a 28 x 20 horizotal layout designed as a wraparound DJ. What you see here is only the right half of the painting which shows up on the front of the DJ. The left half of the painting became the back of the DJ, which you can see in item 148.
This right half side of the painting is a completely different scene from that of the left half. When the publisher returned the painting to me I cut it in half to make two paintings. It is the only time I did that to an original painting.
