The Shamraken Homeward Bound
223. THE SHAMRAKEN HOMEWARD BOUND - An acrylic painting on a 16 x 20 canvas board. I did this painting for my daughter-in-law, Debi. At one time she told me she loved old time sailing ships, so I painted this one for her. The title of the painting is taken from a William Hope Hodgson story.
My son Steve and his wife Debi are very special to me. For one of my birthdays they handed me a large envelope from which I pulled out a photograph of the Museum of Art in New York. Above the photo were the words, "For your birthday, Debi and I are treating you to a day at the Museum of Art. You and I will spend the day in the city, visit the Museum, eat at the Museum Café, and then visit a book store or two along the way. Love, Debi, Steve and all the Puppies!"
And that is what we did. I shall always remember that wonderful day.
