Somewhere in this website I wrote that every drawing or painting that I made was the best I could do at the time I made it. But I've thought about that statement, and I've changed my mind . . .
I now think that if any of the editors, after receiving one of my cover paintings or story illustrations had returned it to me with a note that read, "not good enough, you can do better," I probably would have done better!
