Elysia and the Dragon
370. ELYSIA AND THE DRAGON - A spare time Acrylic painting on size 9 x 12 poster board.
I have scanned and saved images of most of the artwork I have done over the years and placed them in a variety of folders in my computer. And occasionally I select one of the images and alter it in some way and save it under different title. I think its because in some way I'm not satisfied with the original picture and work on the image to see if I can make it better. Sometimes, my alterations become so extreme that I end up creating an entirely new picture.
When a client called and asked me to do a fantasy painting featuring a dragon and a girl with a sword, I went to my files and selected an image I had computer-painted about a year earlier. I worked on it some more with my computer and finally ended up with the picture you see here. I made a print of it and then went upstairs to my "studio" where I painted the picture in acrylic paint on a poster board.
