This story involves an oriental cult, and that reminds me that oriental mystics like all philosphers often question the nature of reality, and of dreams. I recall reading a story many years ago by a chinese philosopher that goes like this . . .
Long ago, Chuang Chou dreamed he was a butterfly. He was happy as a butterfly, and knew nothing of Chou. But soon he awoke and found that he was Chou. And so he wondered whether as Chou he dreamed he was a butterfly, or whether as a butterfly he dreamed that he was Chou.
