Daemon 5
482. DAEMON 5 - A black ink and gray pencil drawing on an 11 x 14 size vellum paper. It is part of the "Daemon" series I started for "Fantastic Stories".
My text for the story appeared in white ink along the bottom of the illustration, which extended down to accommodate all the text:
"Drums mimic the beat of the writhing victim's throbbing heart . . .
The woman laying on the atlar, she is the woman that was on the
beach!"
I was getting somewhat concerned that my ideas for the storyline were getting too complex and too philosophical. I was setting up so many goals for the story I came to the conclusion that I was not going to be able to include them all. And my biggest problem was telling my story with a limited format of 5 or 6 illustrated panels per magazine issue, each containing a single paragraph, published bi-monthly! It seemed like a formula for failure.
