Now and then when I'm perusing my library for something to read, I find myself looking for something that is simply entertaining, no scientific or philosophical concept to ponder about, no minions of Cthulhu to scare me, no tragedies of war to anguish over. I don't always need to read something profound, or something important. Sometimes a well told entertaining "story" is all I'm looking for. I found it in this book, "Anita".

Look at granny down there in the corner, ain't she a pip? Boy, the things she has to deal with!

And that young kid up there fighting off snakes?, Uggh! The things he does for the love of Anita!

And Anita? Well, she's a witch for crying out loud. But a nice one . . .

I'm amazed at how good writers can make imaginary people seem so real.
