The Desert of Stolen Dreams - Frontis
444. THE DESERT OF STOLEN DREAMS: Frontispie - A black ink and gray pencil drawing on an 11 x 14 size vellum paper. It is the frontispiece in the book, "The Desert of Stolen Dreams ,"
by Robert Silverberg, published by Underwood-Miller in 1981.
I want to point something out to you in this drawing. I actually made an error of omission, which troubles me . . . I don't like making mistakes.
There is a tree of middle-tone grey that comes from the top of the picture, in the center, down to the monster's upper back hump. If you look further down to where his tummy and right paw are, that's where the tree continues down to the ground, and that is where I forgot to continue with the same dark shade of middle-tone grey for that tree.
I don't have the original drawing to fix, but if the person who now owns it returns it to me I will make the correction. At no cost, of course.
