Never So Lost
498. NEVER SO LOST - A black ink and gray pencil drawing on an 11 x 14 size vellum paper. It appears in "AMAZING, Oct. 1977".
Before I drew this picture I wondered if I were capable of making her seem "real" to someone who looked deeply into her eyes. That's part of the joy of being an artist; attempting things with my artwork that are meaningful only to me.
But please, look into the woman's eyes, for a few moments. She's real, and she's looking back at you …
Now look how gently her fingertips touch each other, how warm and sensitive they are …
Now, look back into her eyes. Is she just another illustration to you or has she become something more?
Through her eyes you can see me.
Through her eyes I can see you.
